I love my job! Students are my inspiration and occasionally, my frustration. I have worked here at Brooks for 8 joyous years and have found that every year brings new challenges and successes. Teaching is not a job where you should ever stop learning, so I value every year here at Brooks where I have continuously learned from my students and co-workers. I attended Rich Central High School and pursued my Bachelors at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I earned a Masters in English at Governors State University and am currently working on anotherMasters.
Becoming an English teacher was not a career I thought i would ever pursue, but my 11th grade English teacher, Mrs. Welch sparked a love of the deeper questions behind the words on the page that has stayed with me. Even when I tried to run my love of English reared its forceful head. I struggle to get better each year that I teach and i encourage my students to challenge me to achieve this goal. Overall, teaching is hard work, but it is the most rewarding experience, next to being a mother, that I could ever imagine.
