Application Submission The application process is open to eighth-graders who achieved a score of stanine 5 or higher in both reading comprehension and total mathematics on the 7th grade Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) or another nationally normed standardized achievement test. The Selective Enrollment application process is completely separate from the application used for other CPS magnet high schools, and requires a separate application form. You can apply online at www.chicagoselective.org or submit an application to your elementary school. Paper applications are available at any elementary school or Selective Enrollment High School. Applications and a copy of the 7th grade achievement scores are to be forwarded by a student's home school to: Office of Academic Enhancement 125 South Clark Street 9th Floor Chicago, IL 60603 Do not send application forms to Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy. Entrance ExaminationEligible candidates will receive an entrance exam appointment and ticket by U.S. mail. Test sessions are scheduled for the following dates: TBA
Selection Results
Schools manage the selection process. Selection results will be sent by U.S. mail during the last week of February 2006. Parents must make a decision and respond in writing directly to the CPS high school of their choice.
