Open to All at Brooks' Open House

Ah, Open House. The nostalgia that this event alone brings is both fascinating and terrifying. Why terrifying? This Open House made me think how old I am getting. I'm a sophmore, so my Open House at Brooks was 2 years ago, but it feels like it was much more recent. Don't get me wrong, I'm blessed to be living, but time flies faster than you may realize. Going back to my first adjective, this event was certainly fascinating! I was a speaker at Brooks' Open House this year and the new perspective is amazing. Just 2 years ago, I was sitting in the auditorium seats listening to the speaker and debating high schools and now I've made it to the stage. Show time!

To start out, Ms. Resh, one of our assistant principals, did an excellent job with the layout of the school. Clubs were everywhere and class teachers were excited to see potential Eagles. She invited me to speak along with Jessica Torres (#Classof2K17). The turnout was amazing and unlike 2 years ago when I was going to Open House, 6th graders were present. There were huge turnouts from everyone and school almost seemed like it was in session. Everyone was excited to continue on their prospective paths in education and I can tell Brooks is one of the places they are considering.

To any prospective 6th or 8th graders I hope you seriously consider Brooks as your future home. As I said in my speech, if you choose Brooks, the years you spend here will be some of the best in your life!
