Mr. Mullooly Honored with January Staff of the Month Award

Mon, 01/26/2015

As member of the Social Studies Department at Brooks College Prep, Mr. Mullooly offers classes focusing on the study and history of economics. This month he was nominated by his students for the Dr. Howard Staff of the Month Award.

Here is what was said about him:

"Mr. Mullooly is not one of those typical AP teachers that give you a load of work and tell you do it. He breaks everything down and is always willing to lend a helping hand."

"Mr. Mullooly is straight-forward and will tell you exactly what you need to do to excel in his class. He even stays to help students after school even on days when tutoring isn't scheduled."

"When school first started, I wanted to drop Mr. Mullooly's course, AP U.S History, simply because I thought the class would be too hard for me. However, Mr. Bauer convinced me (he actually bribed me) to keep the AP course, trying to get me to understand that it would be beneficial. Soon after, I realized that he was right. At first, it was a slight struggle but with the help of a phenomenal teacher, Mr. Mullooly, I finally got on task. I am extremely appreciative of his teaching methods and his willingness to always help. It feels good to say that I am doing pretty good in an AP class, which kids, like myself in the beginning, typically run away from. I want to say thank you to Mr. Mullooly and I think he absolutely deserves the Dr. Howard award."

The Dr. Howard Award was created to honor staff members who above an beyond the call of duty. It is named after Dr. Betty Howard, who worked as Case Manager for the Special Education Department at Brooks until June 2014 when her life was cut short by a stray bullet.
