On Thursday, May 5, Leap Innovations formalized the grant of $280,000 to Brooks College Prep, as a recognition of the School's efforts to personalize learning for every student. In the end, the grant will total $330,000 to support this work for Brooks' school community.

The announcement was made to an audience of parents, teachers, students, managers of Leap Innovations and Lisa Weirsma from IMC, one of Brooks' long time sponsors.

LEAP Innovations is granting $1.96 millions to seven Chicago-area schools, as part of the Breakthrough Schools Chicago program.

Last year, during the first phase of the program, educators from 15 schools served as creative agents for innovation by engaging their students and the school community in a process to design and pilot transformative, whole school personalized learning models developed to meet the needs of their unique
student populations.

Thanks to all the teachers who spent time developing the program that ultimately resulted in this award and to the members of the Local School Council for backing the initiative.
