  • NHS is hosting a mother daughter tea party on Saturday may 11th from 1-4pm. Tickets are $5 person and will be sold during the lunch periods.  Bring your mother ,grandmother, aunt or any of the wonderful ladies in your life.
  • Brooks Dance Department Presents: The Show. Everyone come out and support the dance department Friday, May 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5.  his dance show will have some great dancers and some of the best performers across the nation. Performances by TDOC, Illusive, Cameron Maxwell, Joseph Robinson, Natasha Marshall, Dejanae Hayes, Nick Carter Green, Diamond Sneed, Yemi Marie, and Shuree. Tickets are only $5!!! Come out and support your fellow classmates and friends as they show off their talent. Trust us, You will be in for a show.
  • If you signed up for seed packing, May 4th and May 5th check your CPS email.  Info about food and parking is attached.  See you there!
  • It's Time to Give Back seminar is collecting shirts, pants (and jeans), skirts and accessories for the month of May to donate to local Churches and teen residential homes.  There will be a table set up outside of the cafeteria during lunch periods.  Please donate
  • Attention Seniors: College Signing Day will occur on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:30pm. Each of you will declare where you will attend school in the fall in a unique way. Be sure you turn in your school information to Ms. Royal ASAP. 
  • Any Junior who wants to run for class officer needs to email Ms. Lufrano by Friday of next week or stop by her room.
  • Did you know that 506 people were murdered in Chicago in 2012? The Culture Jamming Seminar is collecting 506 pairs of shoes to create a sculpture to increase community awareness of the magnitude of this problem. Please drop your shoes off in the recycling bin by the security desk, in the main office or in Ms. Boone's room. 
  • Students - even though you may not be running in the Chicago Marathon you can still partner with team and help the effort raising money for clean drinking water.  If every student gives $3 the student body will contribute $2000 toward clean drinking water.  $2000 is the same as providing clean drinking water for 40 African's for their entire lives.  Consider abstaining from Hot Cheetos for three days and put that money in the orange marathon jugs your teachers have in the classroom.  Thanks - Brooks' Marathon Team.
  • Summer Jobs! Registration is now open for One Summer Chicago. Log on www.onesummerchicago.org to apply.
  • Attention Seniors - State's Attorney Anita Alvarez is having a Summer Internship Contest for minority students. If selected, not only will you gain invaluable experience working in her office, you also will receive an $1000 scholarship! See Dr. Bauer for an application. They are due on May, 6th.
  • Peer tutors are available in the  CAFETERIA  on Tuesdays from 3:40p.m.-4:40pm. 
  • If you attend peer tutoring you will receive a raffle ticket that makes you eligible for a prize.
  • If you attend your scheduled meeting with your Counselor, you will receive a raffle ticket that makes you eligible for a prize (i.e. gift cards, movie tickets, etc..)!!!  The winner of the raffle will be announced on Mondays.  Attend your meeting with your Counselor!!!
