  • Xclusivevly Defined Fashion Club presents Beauty and Bow Ties, a pre-prom experience on Feb. 15th 6:00-7:30.  Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
  • All Marathon Runners please report to the  2nd Floor East Rotunda  after school next Wednesday to take your yearbook photo.
  • Seniors- The Scholarship and FAFSA Challenge is on! The first advisory that has all students complete 2 scholarships and the FAFSA or the highest number of students who have completed the challenge by March 1st will win a pizza party. Let's go!
  • Today's website trivia question can be found under "Breaking News" at the bottom of the homepage.  The first 5 people to email Dr. Bauer at edbauer@cps.edu with the correct answer are eligible for a prize including ear buds, itunes gifts cards, and more!
  • On Feb. 28th, there will be an African American Writers Read In where students will be performing  readers theater of works written by African American writers. This event will take place during all blocks.
  • The Spanish National Honor Society will be selling Valentine's Day Balloons during all lunch periods today (Monday), and in the morning on Seminar Day. Send your loved ones a cute balloon and a sweet message! 
  • Congrats to Girls and Boys Bowling Teams and the Cheer Squad in their competitions this weekend!
  • Attention Seniors: Camp College Applications are now available. If you want to get a taste of college life without the costs, then stop by Dr. Bauer's office for an application TODAY! This is a summer opportunity you won't want to miss! 
  • If you would like to join encore to participate in A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream, Please come to one of the Monday meetings! You have until Feb. 25th to join. Meetings are held in the auditorium at 4:45. check us out for more details! Hope to see you there!
  • John Mercer Langston was the first black man to become a lawyer in Ohio when he passed the Bar in 1854. When he was elected to the post of Town Clerk for Brownhelm, Ohio in 1855 Langston became one of the first African Americans ever elected to public office in America. John Mercer Langston was also the great-uncle of Langston Hughes, famed poet of the Harlem Renaissance. 
  • There is a short meeting for all Peer Tutors who have worked the first semester. The meeting is mandatory to receive your Service Learning Hours and will take place on Monday, February 11th at 3:40p.m. in the Counseling Center. Also, those students are interested in becoming Peer Tutors during the second semester should pick-up an application from Mrs. Williams. The application deadline is Friday, February 15th.
  • A.P review is starting this week! Mrs. Gillick and Mr. Schroers will have review sessions after school today.  Remember, today is ACT prep!
  • Attention students needing to recover a credit- the Evening/Saturday Credit Recovery schedule is available for Semester 2. See your counselor as soon as possible to register. Registration ends February 14!
  • Those interested in participating in the online newspaper/social media/school website should see Mrs. Taylor.
  • Remember to turn in your Dentist Forms  to Ms. Jackson.
  • Lyrikally Xplicit will have an open mic in the library on Feb. 15th during lunch periods.  If you are planning to perform, see Ms. Berg to give her your piece.
